Back-to-school bash rescheduled Aug. 12 at Legends Outlets
The Legends Outlets’ Back-to-School Bash, postponed because of the weather on Aug. 5, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12. The Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 12, will feature the YMCA of Greater Kansas City and United Way of Wyandotte County. In addition to special back-to-school savings and all-day shopping, the event will feature games and activities, healthy snacks, prize giveaways, community appearances and entertainment including a mascot dance-off, Sporting Kansas City autograph signing and family-friendly concert featuring Mr. Stinky Feet. Throughout the day, guests can also participate in Legends Outlets’ Back-to-School Clothing Drive benefitting the United Way of Wyandotte County for the chance to win a $500 Legends Outlets gift card. The event is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at The Legends Outlets, 1843 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. It is free and open to the public. Waterfowl Classic event planned Aug. 12-13
Cabela’s in Kansas City, Kansas, will offer waterfowl hunting enthusiasts and those wanting to learn more about the sport a weekend of activities, seminars and appearances during its Waterfowl Classic event, Aug. 12-13. In addition to many Waterfowl events taking place over the weekend, Cabela’s will also host DockDogs, which are flying and jumping dogs that may entertain families. There is no admission. Annual picnic planned today
The fourth annual “I’m So Wyandotte” Picnic is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the KCKCC gym area, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Free health screenings and free haircuts are scheduled in the morning, along with fitness classes. The picnic is from noon to 6 p.m. There will be drill teams, dance competitions, face painting and bounce houses, along with other events. Church festival planned
Our Lady and St. Rose Catholic Church, 8th and Quindaro Boulevard, plans a block party from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the parish grounds. The event will include food, games and fellowship.
T-Bones to play Salina tonight in KCK
The Kansas City T-Bones will play the third game in a four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas. It will be First Responders Night with fireworks afterward.
