Democrats to meet March 18
The Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast will meet Saturday, March 18, at The Dotte Spot Bar and Grill, 8123 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. Speaking this month will be State Rep. Louis Ruiz, D-31st Dist., and Teresa Garcia Krusor, who is the Democratic National Committeewoman from Kansas. Krusor is also the former Kansas Democratic Party vice chair and secretary. The breakfast buffet will be available at 8:15 a.m. and the program begins at 9:15 a.m. All Democrats are invited to attend. The cost for the breakfast is $10, or $6 for students and those on a limited incomes. There is a $2 for coffee if you are not purchasing breakfast. You are not required to purchase breakfast to attend. Those who are planning to attend are asked to make a reservation by Thursday, March 16, to [email protected]. While reservations are not required to attend, they are important for planning the breakfast.
Quilting program offered
Learn to quilt at a program from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the West Wyandotte Library, conference room C, 1737 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kansas. The program covers the basics of quilting, along with new skills. It is for age 11 and older. Registration is required in advance to 913-295-8250.
Craft class offered
A craft class on gilding will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Kansas City, Kansas, Public library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The class is for adults and senior adults. Participants will use thin sheets of metal to make objects look metallic, with a couple of projects to choose from. Teens may attend if accompanied by an adult. There is a $5 cost for supplies. Registration is required to 913-295-8250, Ext. 1112.
San Jose to visit Sporting KC Saturday
A pair of unbeaten teams square off Saturday when Sporting Kansas City (0-0-2, 2 points) plays host to the San Jose Earthquakes (2-0-0, 6 points) at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
