Rolled Thai ice cream coming to Legends

The newest food coming to the Legends Outlets in Kansas City, Kansas, will be rolled Thai-style ice cream.

According to a Legends spokeswoman, Freezing Rolls will open in December in the former location of Topsy’s Popcorn, on the south side of the shopping center at 1843 Village West Parkway, Suite M107.

In making Thai ice cream rolls, a milk-based liquid is poured over an extremely cold steel surface. The base liquid freezes to become ice cream, thinly spread and scraped at an angle to form the ice cream rolls, with the addition of toppings such as chopped fruits or cookies in some cases.

The rolled-up ice cream is then placed in a cup and often topped with fudge or whipped cream, according to the spokeswoman.

The new Freezing Rolls will have 2,995-square feet of retail space.

Topsy’s Popcorn has been relocated to 1843 Village West Parkway, Suite T118, and it reopened on Sept. 9.

Topsy’s will continue to offer buttered popcorn, caramel, cinnamon, cheese, and caramel popcorn with pecans or peanuts, including gift tins for the holidays.

The Legends spokeswoman said Go! Calendars, Games and Toys, a seasonal store, will return for its third holiday season on Oct. 5 and will remain open through Jan. 31.

Go! Calendars features holiday gifts such as calendars, games, toys and puzzles, and will be located across from the Old Navy outlet store at a 6,931-square-foot pop-up site at 1829 Village West Parkway, Suite 107.
