Rockfest concert planned for Kansas Speedway on Saturday

Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, will be the site of the Rockfest concert on Saturday, June 3.

The concert will run from noon to midnight on June 3, according to information on the concert website. The gates open at 11 a.m. There will be two stages for the entertainment.

The concert, sponsored by The Rock 98.9 FM, also is planning a mass wedding this year.

The group Godsmack is set to perform at 10:40 p.m. Other groups scheduled to be at Rockfest include Sammy Hagar, Volbeat, Ratt, Halestorm, Collective Soul, Buckcherry, P.O.D., Blackberry Smoke, Zakk Sabbath, Candlebox, Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, Andrew Hagar, Sidewise, Watching the Fall, and One Less Reason. The national anthem will be performed by Zakk Wylde at noon.

The concert is moving from the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Mo., where it has been held the last 13 years, to the speedway site. It was held in 1994 and from 1998 to 2003 at the Sandstone Amphitheater in Bonner Springs.
