Con Sabor, a Mexican restaurant, recently opened at 503 N. 6th in Kansas City, Kan.

The Sarmiento family, originally from Veracruz, Mexico, decided to open up a restaurant.

Their service is excellent and their food will excite you. Plus the prices are very reasonable. In fact, this is one of the cleanest restaurants ever.

The restaurant’s menu is unique. They have a lot to offer on the menu, the quality is excellent. The shrimp cocktail is the best I’ve tasted in a long time. I am not particularly a fan of shrimp cocktail. But the shrimp cocktail at Con Sabor is excellent, and the chef, Berma Sarmiento, ensures that everything is made fresh to order and high-quality standards are met.

The food not only tastes fantastic, but it is very eye-appealing as well, making Con Sabor A Mexico a true culinary experience.

They offer a breakfast menu with such items as breakfast tacos. All the food is cooked to order and the kitchen as well as dining room is very clean and well-maintained.

And for those of us who are looking for a healthy breakfast items they have oatmeal De La Casa, which is cooked oats with skim milk, cinnamon and brown sugar and is served with berries, bananas and raisins. This makes it ideal for those of us who are on a healthy diet, especially around the holidays.

Their appetizers are equally as good, not to mention the shrimp cocktail that is excellent. The regular menu also has a lot to offer such as Entomatadas, which is three chicken-stuffed tortillas in a tomato sauce topped with their queso fresco and served with sliced tomatoes, lime and jalapenos. Another favorite is called Gorditas Veracuz style, which is two homemade gorditas (sopes) topped with choice of black or pinto refried beans, queso fresco, and a choice of red or green salsa.

They also offer a kids menu which such things as a happy pancake, mini waffle and a mini omelet on the children’s breakfast menu. On the children’s lunch menu there is a range of items to choose from such as chicken tenders, cheeseburger and a chicken tostada. All kids’ meals come with a drink.

Even though there’ve been open only two weeks, they’ve received high reviews. If you’re looking for a place to go before church, or you’re looking for a place to have lunch this is the place to go.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. They serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and lunch is served from 11 a.m. to close. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. You can even call ahead and place an order to go. The telephone number is 913-257-5186.
