Revenues at the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., were up slightly for May, compared to April.
According to figures released today by the Kansas Lottery Commission, revenues at Hollywood Casino were $11,677,183 for May as compared to $11,147,857 for April.
If the figures continue at the same pace, revenues for the 2014 fiscal year may be higher than 2013.
Revenues were down slightly from the previous month at the Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City, Kan., and were up slightly at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kan.
The Unified Government receives 3 percent of the revenues from the Hollywood Casino in gaming taxes, and the state receives 22 percent.
In other news at the Kansas Lottery Commission meeting today, the lottery decided to start taking applications for a southeast Kansas casino at 8 a.m. on July 14 and stop taking applications at 1 p.m. Dec. 19. The casino may be built in Cherokee or Crawford counties.
The Legislature recently dropped the minimum investment to $50 million and the privilege fee to $5.5 million for this casino.
