Results have been announced from the Leavenworth Road Association Kids’ Fishing Derby held Saturday at Wyandotte County Lake.

The derby was sponsored by Leavenworth Road Association along with the Unified Government Parks and Recreation Department.

Here are the results from the fishing derby:

Largest fish

Daniel Morrissey, age 14, 4 lbs. 2 oz.

Age 3-6

1st Judy Summers 3 yrs. old, 2 lbs. 10 oz.
2nd Jace Collins 3 yrs. old, 2 lbs. 8 oz.
3rd Brandon Collins 3 yrs. old, 2 lbs. 6 oz.

Age 7-9
1st Cale Denney 7 yrs. old, 2 lb.
2nd James Gray 9 yrs. old, 11 oz.
3rd Adriana Tichener 7 yrs. old, 11 oz.

Age 10-12
1st Taren McCarthy 11 yrs. old, 1 lb. 5 oz.
2nd Jamison Roth 12 yrs. old, 1 lb. 2 oz.
3rd Jessie White 11 yrs. old, 1 lb. 1 oz.

Age 13-15
1st Keirsten Harris 14 yrs. old, 15 oz.
2nd Zack Daniels 14 yrs. old, 14 oz
3rd Dylan Gibson 13 yrs. old, 13 oz.

Police Chief Terry Zeigler was there to hand out trophies to all the winners.

Daniel Morrissey, who caught the largest fish of the derby, received a trophy and a Walmart gift certificate for $25.

All age groups also received Walmart gift cards: 1st place, $20, 2nd place, $15 and 3rd place $10.

The trophies were from Varsity Sports. The gift cards were from Delta Detail, Speedway Muffler and Ussery Body Shop. These three businesses go in together to provide the gift cards.
