Residents still may sign up for BPU’s energy efficiency workshops

There is still time to sign up for BPU’s summer energy efficiency workshops, according to a spokesman.

The Kansas City, Kan., Board of Public Utilities will present two Energy Efficiency Workshops on Monday, June 8. These free events will feature discussions about home improvement solutions that reduce home energy costs. BPU is offering a special incentive for customers to sign up friends and family.

“The first 10 customers to sign up at least five people including themselves for either the 1st or 2nd workshop sessions will receive one free box of CFL light bulbs valued at $25,” said BPU Development Coordinator David Allen.

The public is welcome to attend at the West Wyandotte Public Library at 1737 N. 82nd St. in Kansas City, Kan. Two sessions will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Industry experts will also be participating to showcase displays, conduct demonstrations, and offer environmental upgrade advice for homes.
