State Rep. Kathy Wolfe Moore, D-36th Dist., recently donated a $5,000 award to RSI, the crisis stabilization resource in Wyandotte County.
Also donating a $5,000 award to RSI was Sen. Jim Denning of Overland Park, for a total donation amount of $10,000.
Rep. Wolfe Moore and Sen. Denning were awarded the $10,000 recently by the National Council for Behavioral Health’s 2018 Excellence in Advocacy by an Elected Official for advocacy on behalf of the mentally ill and the work done in the Kansas Legislature to create and sustain RSI.
RSI is a mental health crisis care facility in the Rosedale area serving Wyandotte and Johnson counties. It is operated by Wyandot Inc., 1301 N. 47th St., Kansas City, Kansas. RSI also is operated in collaboration with Johnson County Mental Health and Heartland Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Center.
Rep. Wolfe Moore and Sen. Denning are the only elected officials to receive this nationwide award in 2018, and the only Kansans ever to receive the award.
