U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, D-3rd Dist., has announced plans to open an office in the Brotherhood Building at 7th and Minnesota in downtown Kansas City, Kansas.
The new office, to open in March, is on the bus line and will be accessible.
“My team and I are committed to being an active and present part of the Wyandotte County community and we’re excited to establish an easily accessible presence here,” Rep. Davids said in a news release. “It’s important that I’m hearing from people from all corners of this district and I hope people from WyCo will visit us often and consider us a resource.”
The exact date of opening is not yet set, but is expected to be in March after the office communication wiring is installed, according to Danielle Robinson, district director for Rep. Davids. Office hours will be announced later.
During the campaign, Rep. Davids said she would reopen a constituent office in Wyandotte County. There has not been a constituent office here since former Rep. Dennis Moore, D-3rd Dist., was in office.
Rep. Davids’ Johnson County constituent office opened this month at 7325 W. 79th St., Overland Park, Kansas, in space that was previously former Rep. Kevin Yoder’s constituent office.
Staff members at the constituent offices will help residents with any concerns they may have with the federal government, such as veterans’ benefits, Social Security, Medicare, tax refunds, passports and other federal programs.
Robinson said in the future, Rep. Davids also will be reaching out to other areas of the 3rd District, such as Miami County, by holding community remote office hours at various locations.
