The Board of Public Utilities is holding a free energy efficiency workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The event will demonstrate easy and effective weatherization and energy efficiency strategies to help customers save electricity, water and money in their homes, a spokesman said.
The workshop will be in two sessions on Nov. 1 at the West Wyandotte Public Library, 1737 N.82nd St., Kansas City, Kan. The sessions are from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Seating is limited for the workshop. To register for the afternoon or evening session, contact David Allen at 913-573-9922 or [email protected], by Friday, Oct. 28.
These topics will be discussed:
• How to use Energy Engage, BPU’s newest online tool that allows customers to track energy and water use in their home.
• The Wonderful World of Energy Efficiency – How being energy efficient pays you back with monthly and yearly savings.
• A look ahead at the BPU Community Solar Pilot Program.
Bob Millbyer of Westlake Ace Hardware will be on-hand with low- and moderate-cost energy efficient products for the home that help customers save during the winter months.
