Light to moderate rain will continue off and on through the remainder of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms, with periods of moderate to heavy rain, will move into the area this evening and persist through the early overnight hours, the weather service said.

A few of these storms may be severe, with 50-60 mph wind gusts along with a low chance at a brief tornado, according to the weather service.

Around 1 inch of rain is expected, with some areas receiving 1-2 inches, which may bring some isolated flash flooding or minor localized stream flooding, the weather service said.

Rain chances will increase overnight tonight through early Sunday morning, the weather service said.

Widespread amounts around an inch are possible across the area, with locally higher amounts possible, according to the weather service.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected Saturday evening, the weather service said.

Isolated flash flooding will be possible, along with localized minor stream flooding, according to the weather service.


Today, showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm by afternoon, then showers between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., followed by more showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 60 with a south southeast wind of 10 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph. Between a half and three-quarters inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 90 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before midnight, according to the weather service. The low will be around 41 with a south southeast wind of 9 to 11 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Winds may gust as high as 23 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Sunday, it will be cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 39 by 5 p.m., the weather service said. A west southwest wind of 9 to 11 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.
