Rain today, mostly sunny on Saturday

After dry conditions for a lengthy time, rain fell this morning in Wyandotte County.

While additional rainfall amounts will top out at about a half of an inch with most seeing lesser amounts, according to the weather service, any rain is welcome given the recent dry conditions.

For later this afternoon through this evening, isolated thunderstorms may be possible among the showers as a cold front moves through, the weather service said. No severe weather is expected.

Temperatures will return to near normal for this time of year through early next week, according to the weather service.

Today, most of the rain and storms are likely before 11 a.m. The high will be near 74. A south wind of 9 to 14 mph will gust as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Tonight, there is a chance of showers and storms between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m., the weather service said. The low will be around 52. A south wind of 8 to 13 mph will become west after midnight. The chance of rain is 50 percent, the weather service said.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 65, and a north northwest wind of 9 to 13 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 42, the weather service said.

Sunday’s forecast is sunny and a high near 66, with an east wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.
