Rain to end today; frost advisory issued for Friday night

A rainy Friday morning is expected to change later to a mostly sunny and windy afternoon with a high of 55, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

A frost advisory has been issued for Friday night into Saturday morning, the weather service said. Residents may want to cover any sensitive vegetation.

Winds today could gust out of the north as high as 30 mph, according to the weather service.

Tonight’s low will dip to 35 degrees, and portions of the region that reach 33 or lower could result in frost formation, killing sensitive vegetation, according to the weather service.

After a slight warm-up on Saturday, temperatures will dip to 34 degrees on Monday night, the weather service said. A dry cold front will move through the region on Saturday night, beginning a stretch of below normal temperatures, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will be falling on Sunday, which is Halloween, with Sunday night’s low around 38, the weather service said. The temperature around 8 p.m. Sunday will be around 45 degrees, according to the forecast.

On Tuesday, Election Day, the high will be near 48. There is no rain in the Tuesday daytime forecast, but frost could be possible in the morning.

Today, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 11 a.m., the weather service said. It will be cloudy in the morning, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 55. A north wind of 15 to 17 mph will gust as high as 30 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 35, according to the weather service. A north northwest wind of 5 to 9 mph will gust as high as 23 mph.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 62 and a light northwest wind, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 42, according to the weather service, and a calm wind becoming north northwest 5 to 8 mph after midnight.

Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 54, the weather service said. A north wind of 8 to 10 mph will gust as high as 18 mph.

Sunday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 47.
