Rain, storms possible for Tuesday, Wednesday

Heavy rain fell to the north of the Kansas City area this morning.

This afternoon, there is a possibility of scattered storms, according to the National Weather Service. More storms are possible tonight. Winds up to 50 mph are possible, according to the weather service.

Today’s high will be near 87, the weather service said.

On Wednesday, the storms are expected to move south of the Missouri River, according to the weather service. There is a 40 percent chance of storms and rain. There is a very small risk of tornadoes.

Wednesday night, a 30 percent chance of storms continues, according to the weather service.

Thursday’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 88, the weather service said.
