Rain possible tonight through Sunday, plus cool weekend weather

Another round of rain is possible Saturday night through Sunday, with a quarter to half-inch of rain expected, according to the National Weather Service.

This could exacerbate ongoing flooding in other areas of the region, the weather service stated. In Wyandotte County, the rivers are currently well below action stage.

Widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms also are expected Monday night into Tuesday, the weather service said. No severe weather is expected, but a strong storm or two can’t be ruled out.

The rain with this system on Monday and Tuesday also could worsen ongoing flooding or lead to new flooding, according to the weather service.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 47 and a south southeast wind of 5 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, mainly after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 38 with an east southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Sunday, there is a 90 percent chance of rain, with a high near 46, the weather service said. An east southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph is possible. From a quarter to a half-inch of rain is likely.

Sunday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain before 1 a.m., with a low of 38, according to the weather service. There will be a calm wind. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Monday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 56, the weather service said. A calm wind will become east southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday night, there is an 80 percent chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. New rainfall amounts will be between a half and three-quarters of an inch.

Tuesday, there is a 70 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 64.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 43, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 71, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 43, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 57, the weather service said.

Thursday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain, with a low of 39, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 50 percent chance of rain, with a high near 56, the weather service said.
