Rain in today’s forecast, chance of snow on Tuesday

Rain is in today’s forecast for Wyandotte County, followed by snow on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Moderate to locally heavy rainfall is possible. During the day, between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible, followed by another tenth of an inch of rain tonight, the weather service said.

Minor localized flooding may be possible in some low-lying areas of the region, according to the weather service.

A 60 percent chance of precipitation, including rain and snow, is possible on Tuesday, with additional precipitation Tuesday night, the weather service said. Less than a half-inch of snow is in Tuesday’s daytime forecast, with less than a tenth of an inch on Tuesday night.

Today, the high will be near 45, with 100 percent chance of rain before 3 p.m., the weather service said. A north northeast wind of 11 to 16 mph will gust as high as 24 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 40 percent chance of rain before 3 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow, according to the weather service. The low will be around 33 with a north wind of 5 to 11 mph.

Tuesday, there is a 60 percent chance of snow before 7 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 7 a.m. and noon, then rain likely after noon, the weather service said. The high will be near 40 with a north wind of 6 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph. Less than a half-inch of snow is in the forecast.

Tuesday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain and snow before 9 p.m., then a chance of snow between 9 p.m. and midnight, according to the weather service. The low will be around 25. There will be a north northwest wind gusting as high as 21 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation is in the forecast.

Wednesday, it will be cloudy through mid-morning, then gradually clearing, and the high will be near 35, the weather service said. A north northwest wind of 7 to 14 mph will gust as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 21, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 41, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 22, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 43, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 26, according to the weather service.
