Showers and isolated storms are possible in the area today, according to the National Weather Service.
The best chance for rain showers will be this afternoon, the weather service said. Severe weather is not expected. Today’s high will be near 78.
The wind was coming from the south last night and now has changed to the north, as a cold front is moving through the area.
The Wyandotte County forecast says thunderstorms are possible after 4 p.m. Also, more rain and a thunderstorm are possible before 2 a.m. tonight, followed by more rain and storms through 4 a.m.
Cooler, dry weather is expected for much of Sunday, the weather service said. Sunday’s high will be near 75.
Temperatures will gradually increase back into the 80s by early next week, according to the weather service.
Today, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 78 with a north wind of 6 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch is possible.
Tonight, there is a 90 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a slight chance of showers after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 55. A north wind of 9 to 11 mph will gust as high as 24 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.
Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 75 and a north northwest wind of 7 to 10 mph, the weather service said.
Sunday night, it will be clear, with a low of 51 and a north wind around 6 mph becoming calm, according to the weather service.
Monday, it will be sunny, with a high near 80 and a west wnd of 5 to 8 mph, gusting to 18 mph, the weather service said.
Monday night, it will be clear, with a low of 55, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 85, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, it will be clear, with a low of 62, according to the weather service.
Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 89, the weather service said.
Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 64, according to the weather service.
Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 88, the weather service said.
