Rain in forecast for Friday and Saturday

Showers and thunderstorms will move through the area today, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect most of the day to be soggy, with some breaks mixed in, the weather service said.

Severe weather is not anticipated, but some storms could be strong with gusty winds and small hail possible, according to the weather service.

With area streams running high and saturated soils it will not take much rain to cause some minor flooding where the rain is heaviest, the weather service said.

Today’s high will be near 79. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is 70 percent, mainly after 3 p.m., according to the weather service.

Tonight, the low will be around 59, while there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before 2 a.m., according to the weather service.

Saturday, look for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 68. A north northwest wind of 14 mph may gust as high as 18 mph.
