Race weekend kicks off tonight at Kansas Speedway

It’s race weekend in Kansas City, Kan., with race car drivers from throughout the country converging on the Kansas Speedway.

Races are scheduled Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 18.

Racing is under the lights tonight with the ARCA race. The ARCA race begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight. During the daytime, there will be practices or qualifying for the three races.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the NASCAR XFINITY Series Race, Kansas Lottery 300, will be held at 3 p.m.

Chris Buescher is the point leader for the XFINITY Series after 29 races, closely followed by Chase Elliott, Regan Smith and Ty Dillon.

Sunday, Oct. 18, will feature the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at 1:15 p.m.

After 30 races, Joey Logano leads the point standings, closely followed by Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon. Rounding out the top 10 point leaders are Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch.

Concerts are planned in conjunction with the races.

Tonight, after the ARCA race, Jackyl will perform at the Speedway.

Sunday, before the Sprint Cup Series race, at 11:30 a.m., Eric Paslay will perform.
