A public meeting on proposed changes to bus routes in Kansas City, Kan., will be held today in a parked bus at 7th and Minnesota Avenue.
According to the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, public comments are being received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the 7th and Minnesota Transit Center, inside a parked bus.
The KCATA is considering cutting the 105 Rosedale route, which travels from29th and Strong to 43rd and Booth, because of underperformance, according to a KCATA statement.
Also proposed is to eliminate part of the 102-Central Avenue Routes east of Central Avenue and 6th Street into downtown Kansas City, Mo. The Unified Government is planning to take over part of the 102 Central Avenue route in response to the reduction of rush-hour service east of 6th and Central Avenue.
Those who cannot attend today’s public meeting in downtown KCK may go to two other meetings scheduled:
• 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in a RideKC bus parked at 29th and Strong in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kan.
• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in a RideKC bus parked at the University o Kansas Medical Center stop at 3900 Rainbow Blvd. in Kansas City, Kan.
Those who cannot attend the public meetings may submit comments to [email protected] or call 816-346-0300.
I would like more information on the proposal for route 102. I use this route to get to work especially when weather is bad.
