A public hearing on an ordinance creating a downtown grocery redevelopment tax-increment financing district is on the agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting Thursday, Oct. 11, of the Unified Government Commission.
The meeting will be in the lobby level, Commission Chambers, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
Also on the agenda:
• Authorization to accept a $50,000 grant for the Livable Neighborhoods Task Force from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City to promote safe and affordable housing;
• An ordinance to allow the UG legal staff to start proceedings to acquire land for the Board of Public Utilities’ 161kV Everett II Substation at 4501 Everett Ave.
• An ordinance to allow the UG legal staff to start proceedings to acquire land for the Board of Public Utilities’ 161kV Speaker II Substation, replacing the 69kV Speaker Substation at 4417 Speaker Road.
• Several Land Bank items include a transfer to the Land Bank from the Argentine Betterment Corp. at 4714 Vista Ave.; a transfer to the Land Bank at 327 S. Boeke St. from Wyandotte County; a transfer from the Land Bank at 1126 S. 39th St.; a transfer from the Land Bank at 4714 Vista Ave. to Argentine Betterment Corp; a donation to the Land Bank at 2036 N. Hallock St.
A 5 p.m. UG Commission special session will be held Oct. 11 in the fifth floor conference room for a presentation on the long-range financial plan. Afterward, the commission will move to the ninth floor conference room for a closed executive session on labor.
