Electrical power has been restored to Board of Public Utilities customers after a power outage caused by storms earlier this week.
A BPU spokesman stated that everyone who can have electricity should be on at this point. A few need repairs to their homes, and then power will be restored, the spokesman stated.
“Thank you to all our customers who hung in there dealing with the heat and no electricity while our crews battled to restore power,” the spokesman stated in a news release. “A big thank you to all our linemen and others who safely restored power to the 21,000 customers that received sustained outages.”
Customers whose meters were pulled off their homes by the storm must contact a licensed electrician for repairs first before power can be restored, the spokesman stated.
Those still without power or having problems with their electricity are encouraged to call the BPU outage line at 913-573-9522 or they may email [email protected].
