Police try to flush out toilet paper thief

Kansas City, Kansas, police posted on the department’s Facebook page that they are seeking to identify a man who allegedly stole $100 worth of toilet paper from the CVS store at 81st and State Avenue.

The man went to CVS around 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, and selected more than $100 worth of Babo bamboo toilet paper, according to the online information. The toilet paper was selling for more than $1 a roll, according to online information.

The man’s card didn’t work, however, and he walked out with the cart full of toilet paper, police stated in the social media post.

Told to stop, the suspect pulled a gun and said, “You don’t want to do this,” leaving in a small, dark-colored sedan, according to the department’s Facebook post.

The suspect was described as a nicely dressed, elderly man with limited use of his left arm, police stated.
