Police seek vehicle believed to be involved in attempted damage at police HQ

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department is requesting the public’s help to locate a gray Volkswagen Beetle that was used in an attempted criminal damage at police headquarters in the 700 block of North 7th Street.

A police spokesman said the driver was observed throwing roofing nails in the parking lot on July 10, at about 10 p.m.

The Volkswagen Beetle appears to be a 2012 to 2015 model, police said.

The incident is under investigation by the Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
