Police pick up individuals in Fairfax on trespassing charges

The Fairfax Industrial Association has alerted its members about a trespassing case overnight in the Fairfax area of Kansas City, Kan.

The association was alerted by police about three persons who were walking in between buildings in the Fairfax area overnight. Officers found a vehicle that had a sign that said it had run out of gas.

The three individuals who were walking around were apprehended on trespassing charges for being on railroad property, according to a report given to the association. Police told the association that they found two backpacks containing only paint.

Police were asking companies in the Fairfax area to be alert to any suspicious vehicles parked or moving about, or foot traffic in the area, and to secure exits and entrances that should be secured. Also, employees were advised to avoid leaving any valuables in the vehicles in plain view, and to report issues to site security or the police immediately.

An official with the Fairfax Industrial Association said any crime in the area is about the same as usual, and they are keeping the members informed about any incidents.
