Assault reported on police officer
An aggravated assault on a police officer was reported on Saturday near the 3500 block of North 39th, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department social media post.
Officers answered a call about a disturbance when a suspect ran at them armed with a machete, according to the police social media post. The suspect was tased and arrested without any further incident, according to the report.
An officer who received minor injuries was treated at a hospital and released, according to the report.
Shooting into home reported
Victims reported being inside their home in the 2000 block of North 9th on Saturday night when it was struck by gunshots several times, according to a social media post by police. There were no injuries.
Another shooting into a home reported
A victim reported being asleep when her house in the 4500 block of Oak Avenue was struck by gunfire on Saturday night, according to a social media post by police.
Several shell casings were recovered, police said.
