Barricaded subject taken into custody
A barricaded person was taken into custody about 10:54 Jan. 3 in the 1400 block of West 37th Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
When officers contacted a suspect who had threatened others, the suspect became irate and threw an object at officers, according to the report.
The suspect fled inside and a barricade ensued, according to police. Eventually the person surrendered and was taken into custody without any further incident, the report stated.
Chase reported near 18th and Minnesota
A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for multiple traffic violations and a possible driving under the influence violation at 1:06 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1800 block of Minnesota Avenue, according to a social media post from the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
After a short pursuit, an outside agency became involved and assisted in taking the suspect into custody without any further incident, according to Kansas City, Kansas, police.
Vehicle theft reported near 108th and Parallel
A motor vehicle theft was reported about 7:45 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 10800 block of Parallel Parkway, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victim told police that the victim’s keys were left in the door by accident. A suspect took the vehicle, and the vehicle was located not long after, according to police. The suspect was taken into custody, according to the report.
