Suspect flees after trying to break into building

A suspect tried to break into a building about 10:50 p.m. Dec. 19 in the 1100 block of Ruby Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A witness saw a possible suspect outside after hearing someone trying to break in, according to the report.

The witness confronted the suspect about breaking in, and the suspect fled, according to the report. There was damage to the building.

Indecent liberties case reported

Indecent liberties with a child was reported about 3 a.m. Dec. 20, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The witness stated he heard noises coming from the basement and saw a foot hanging out from under a blanket. The witness moved the blanket and found a juvenile victim with an adult suspect, according to the report. Both were naked. The suspect fled, but returned after officers arrived. The suspect was taken into custody, and the victim was treated at a hospital, according to the report.

Victim head-butted, choked
A victim was head-butted and choked in an aggravated battery case at 3:15 a.m. Dec. 20, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A suspect head-butted the victim, knocking the victim to the ground, the report stated. Then the suspect choked the victim, and the victim could not breathe, according to the report.

The suspect was taken into custody, while the victim had minor injuries, according to the report.
