Aggravated arson alleged on West 39th
Police responded to an aggravated arson complaint at 7:02 a.m. Jan. 10 in the 2300 block of West 39th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
A complaint was filed about a suspect who was causing a disturbance inside the building, according to the report.
The suspect went into the front vestibule, lit a piece of paper on fire with a lighter, and placed the lit paper on the vestibule floor, the report stated.
According to the complainant, the building was occupied with tenants during the incident, according to the report.
A Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department investigator responded. The suspect was charged with aggravated arson, and taken into custody to the Wyandotte County Jail, according to the report.
