Burglary reported on Leavenworth Road
A burglary was reported at 2 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 5600 block of Leavenworth Road, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victim was cleaning upstairs, listening to music with headphones on, when an unknown suspect kicked in a downstairs door and removed several items, according to the report.
Aggravated battery reported on North 29th
Police responded to an aggravated battery case in the 400 block of North 29th on Jan. 7, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victim stated that while she was bathing a juvenile in the sink, the suspect became agitated, yelled at her and then slammed a firearm on the counter next to them, according to the report.
The gun discharged into the wall, causing damage, the report said. The shrapnel from the tile struck the victim, causing minor injury, according to the report. The suspect then grabbed the gun and fled, the report stated.
Shooting reported on 62nd Street
A shooting was reported at 11:57 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 2900 block of North 62nd Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Officers who responded found a victim inside the residence, according to the report.
The victim reported that while pulling into his driveway, a dark-colored sport utility vehicle drove by and an unknown person exited the vehicle, the report stated.
The suspect then shot into the victim’s vehicle while he was still inside, striking him, the report stated.
As the victim exited his car to run inside the residence, the suspect continued to shoot, also striking the residence, according to the report.
The victim was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
