Car-deer accident reported at 55th and Everett
Police officers responded on a report of a deer that had been hit by a vehicle at 12:14 a.m. Dec. 14 at North 55th and Everett Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
When police officers arrived, they determined that although the animal was still alive, the injuries were severe and the animal was in duress, according to the report. Officers received approval and euthanized the deer, the report stated. Animal Control was notified.
Shots fired on 76th Street
Police received reports that shots were fired into an occupied residence at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 2800 block of North 76th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victims stated an unknown suspect had shot into their home, the report stated. Evidence was collected, according to the report. There were no injuries.
Burglary reported on 18th Street
A commercial burglary was reported in the 600 block of North 18th Street, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Officers were told that sometime between Dec. 11 and Dec. 14, an unknown suspect entered a building in the 600 block of North 18th Street and took property, according to the report.
Police look into items stolen during burglary
Police investigated a residential burglary on Dec. 14 in the 6000 block of Leavenworth Road.
Officers responded to the suspect’s address in an attempt to locate items from a residential burglary, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Officers had contact with the suspect earlier in the day while on a call about suspicious activity, the report stated.
At that time, officers observed the suspect was in possession of such items,, according to the report. The officers located the suspect and took him into custody, the report stated.
