Victims injured in drive-by shooting on North 33rd
Two persons were sitting in a vehicle in front of a house in the 3000 block of North 33rd when an known person drove by and started shooting on Nov. 19, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Both victims were struck in the legs and were taken to a hospital, the report stated.
Gunfire hits home near 17th and Walker
Victims were alerted to gunfire outside their home and awoke to find two bullet holes in the residene near 17th and Walker, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. There were no injuries, the report stated.
Gun in waistband goes off while motorcyclist raced, injuring him in the hip
A motorcyclist who was racing near 12th and Kansas on Nov. 19 was both shot by his own weapon and injured in an accident, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Officers responded to the injury accident and learned that while racing, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and wrecked, according to the report.
During the accident a weapon in the motorcyclist’s waistband discharged, striking him in the hip, the report stated. He also was struck by another vehicle that fled, police reported.
He was taken to a hospital in critical, but non-life-threatening condition, the report stated.
Police stated that a records check revealed the motorcyclist was a felon, and a large bag of a substance thought to be methamphetamine was found in the motorcycle.
Grew up at 3033 N. 33rd St. (33rd & Lathrop) It is sickening to hear that about a once peaceful neighborhood I called home.
