Homicide reported in 2500 block of North 55th
Officers were dispatched on a suspicious person call about 10:40 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 2500 block of North 55th, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The officers discovered a victim who had been stabbed, the report stated. The victim was transported to a hospital and died from injuries, according to the report.
While at the site officers discovered the suspect, who fled in a vehicle, according to the report.
The suspect was taken into custody after a chase assisted by the Kansas Highway Patrol, according to the report.
Shooting at home on North 10th reported
An unknown suspect began shooting at the victims’ home while they were inside, causing them to fear for their lives, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The shooting occurred at 4:09 a.m. Oct. 3 at 300 N. 10th, the report stated. Bullets struck the house multiple times and struck the vehicle in the driveway, breaking two windows, the report stated.
Criminal damage reported on Everett
Police responded to a criminal damage case at 10:44 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 6000 block of Everett Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
According to the report, a suspect damaged items in the home that belonged to the victim and set the victim’s clothes on fire.
Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody, according to the report.
