Domestic battery reported on Cleveland

Domestic battery was reported at 12:28 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 7000 block of Cleveland Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A victim said a suspect came to the resident and started a physical altercation, police stated.

The suspect struck the victim several times, causing injury, according to the report. The suspect fled before police arrived, but was found and arrested later, and was booked into the jail, police stated.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment, according to the report.

Assault reported on Barnett

Officers responded to a dispatched disturbance call at 2 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 500 block of Barnett, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim said while leaving a business in the 500 block of Barnett, he was shot at by a suspect in a sport utility vehicle.

The victim was not injured, the report stated.

Shooting reported on South 71st

Police responded to a call about a shooting at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the 600 block of South 71st Street.

The victim said a shot came through the ceiling from an apartment above her. Officers contacted a suspect and detained the person, who was intoxicated, according to the report.

There were no injuries, and the suspect was booked into the jail, the report stated.

Shooting reported on Metropolitan

A shooting was reported at 4:12 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 2100 block of Metropolitan, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. Two victims stated that while working in the area they were approached by three suspects who demanded money, according to the report.

When the victims refused, one of the suspects shot multiple times, the report stated. The suspects fled on foot westbound on Metropolitan. The victims were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, the report stated.

A bullet struck the vehicle of a third victim, who works nearby, according to the report.

Armed robbery reported on Kaw Drive

An armed robbery was reported at 6:11 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 6400 block of Kaw Drive, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Police made contact with the victim, who said a customer pulled a handgun and demanded money from the register, according to the report.

The suspect took the money and fled northbound on 65th, according to the report.

Assault reported during child exchange on Parallel

Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of North 52nd. A victim said that she was meeting the suspect to exchange a child in the 4700 block of Parallel Parkway, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The suspect pulled up next to her and pointed a handgun, putting her in fear for her life, according to the report. The victim left and the suspect followed her to 55th and Leavenworth Road, the report stated. The suspect then fled eastbound on Leavenworth Road, according to the report.
