Shooting reported on South 10th
A shooting was reported at 9:31 p.m. Aug. 7 in the 1900 block of South 10th, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the address on a shots fired call. When they arrived, they found that the residence had been struck five times, according to the report.
There were no injuries. Detectives and crime scene investigators responded, according to the report.
Convicted felon allegedly in possession of stolen handgun
During a traffic stop about 12:05 a.m. Aug 7 in the 1000 block of Gilmore, officers found that a suspect provided a false name, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
When they confirmed the suspect’s true name, officers found he was a convicted felon in Kansas and Missouri and was in possession of a stolen handgun, according to the report.
Detectives responded to take a suspect statement, according to the report, and the suspect was booked on a 48-hour hold.
