Attempted armed robbery on I-635 off-ramp reported
Officers responded to I-635 and Parallel Parkway about 2:18 a.m. July 19 on reports of a suspected attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
A victim told police that a suspect exited a vehicle on the off-ramp, pointed a handgun in their direction and tried to open the locked driver side door, the report stated.
The suspect then walked to another vehicle and pointed the gun in that vehicle’s direction, according to the report.
The suspect eventually fled across the highway on foot; detectives responded to the scene, the report stated.
