Police investigating shooting into apartment
Police are investigating a shooting into an occupied home that occurred about 5 a.m. Aug. 7 in the 1600 block of Birch Street, Kansas City, Kansas.
Two adults and two juveniles were inside an apartment when the shooting happened, according to a social media post by the police department. While the bullets went into a child’s room, there were no injuries.
Suspect taken into custody
A suspected wanted by the U.S. Marshal was taken into custody on Aug. 6 near 7th and Nebraska, according to a social media post by the police department. The suspect had attempted to flee, and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The suspect had minor injuries and the Fire Department personnel evaluated his injuries, according to police.
According to police, the suspect was in possession of a substance that was thought to be a drug.
