Police investigating homicide at 18th and K-5

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide at 18th and K-5.

According to a police spokesman, officers were dispatched to North 18th and K-5 on reports of a deceased person at 11:22 a.m. Dec. 11.

A preliminary investigation found that a male victim was placed in a barrel and set on fire, according to the spokesman.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification, the spokesman stated.
