Police investigate overnight homicide

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide in the early morning hours Saturday.

At about 1:37 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, officers responded to the 200 block of Kindelberger Road on a shooting, a police spokesman stated.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s, suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the spokesman. The man had life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital where he later died, police said.

The identity of the man is being withheld until there is positive identification and family notification, the spokesman stated.

The homicide is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
