Police are investigating a homicide in the 4000 block of South Thompson Street.
According to a spokesman, officers responded to the location on a shots fired call about midnight.
When they arrived, officers found a male victim inside a residence, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, the spokesman stated.
It was the 39th homicide of the year in Kansas City, Kansas.
