Police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a train in the 2700 block of Merriam Lane.
The preliminary investigation indicated a man in his 40s was struck by a train in the area of the 2700 block of Merriam Lane, a police spokesman said. Police officers responded to the call at 5:08 a.m. July 22.
The death is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team.
