Police investigate burglary and shooting in 2500 block of North 17th

Kansas City, Kan., police are investigating a shooting and burglary at 12:39 a.m. Aug. 24 in the 2500 block of North 17th Street.

Police received a call from a man who said he saw a person breaking into his vehicle and confronted him, the police spokesman said.

After a confrontation, one shot was fired, and the suspect fled north on foot, the police spokesman said.

The suspect was found in the area of 17th and Rowland, and was taken to a hospital in stable but serious condition, police said.
