Kansas City, Kan., police today identified the man armed with a sword who was shot on Saturday night as Carlos Davenport, 50, of Kansas City, Kan.
A police spokesman released further details about the officer-involved shooting on 9:59 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in the 1100 block of Washington in Kansas City, Kan.

Two officers arrived on the scene within three minutes of the call and could hear screaming as they rushed up the stairs to a second-floor apartment, the spokesman stated.
The suspect suddenly charged out of the apartment doorway with a sword raised above his head in an attempt to strike the women with the sword, police stated.
