Friday night, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., there was a poetry night at the Alcott Arts Center, 180 S. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan.
About 100 people from Kansas and Missouri attended the event.
A poetry workshop is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, with an open mike night at 6 p.m. Saturday. The cost of the workshop is $15, and the cost of the evening event is $5 if persons did not attend the workshop.
