Plans underway for KCKCC’s 2017 Innovation Showcase

The Kansas City Kansas Community College Entrepreneurial Innovation Center will hold a 2017 Innovation Showcase Oct. 6.

Entrepreneurs may make plans to highlight their business or idea at the event.

The event is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the BHC Rhodes Engineering Firm, 712 State Ave. in Kansas City, Kan. The event is free to attend.

The Innovation Showcase is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas in front of investors, other entrepreneurs, business leaders and capitalists.

Participants can submit their ideas in either the idea generation or revenue generation category. If an entrepreneur has an innovation idea that has not generated revenue, they qualify for the first category. If the idea has generated revenue, they will register in the second category.

All pitch participants must register via the online portal, which will be used to judge all pre-qualification pitches. A national Showcase webpage will be provided to all participants to promote their business nationally and they may upload pitch videos and other information as often as they need until the submission cutoff date. During this time, participants will also be able to benefit from free consulting in order to improve their pitch ideas

Showcase winners are chosen, in part, from attendees who will have the chance to select their favorite idea or business through live, real-time voting, via their cell phone.
