An aggravated robbery of a pickup truck was reported at a house in the 2900 block of North 59th at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
The victims went to check on a vacant house they own and found a male and female sleeping there, according to a social media post by the police chief.
The victims told the suspects to leave the house, and when the suspects followed them to the driveway, the male displayed a sawed-off shotgun, then demanded the victims’ car keys and cell phones, according to police. When the victims refused, the suspect fired one round into the garage door. The victims then gave them the keys.
No one was injured in the incident, a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman stated, and no one is in custody yet.
The suspects left in a 2006 tan, Ford F-150 truck with Kansas tags, according to the police chief’s social media post.
