A pedestrian died after being struck about 8:46 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at South 7th Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a police spokesman.
When officers arrived at the accident, they found a man in his late 30s, who had been struck by a vehicle in the roadway, the spokesman said.
An initial investigation found that a vehicle southbound on 7th Street struck the pedestrian in the road, the spokesman said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The identity of the victim will not be released until there is positive identification and family notification.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team is investigating.
