Heavy rain due to thunderstorms is causing urban and small stream flooding, according to the weather service. Minor flooding may result.
A half-inch to 1 inch of rain has fallen within the past hour, the weather service said.
Residents are advised to be aware of flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as drainage areas and low-lying spots, the weather service said.
Flooding may be reported to the local law enforcement agencies when it can be done safely, according to the weather service.
Residents should not drive through flooded roadways.
Wyandotte County remains under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. A thunderstorm was moving through Wyandotte County around 8 p.m.
This storm has produced large hail and high winds in other areas, according to the weather service.
Douglas County was placed under a tornado watch until 1 a.m., according to the weather service.
