Volunteers recognized

Wyandotte County mayors joined leaders across the country in celebrating Mayors’ Day of Recognition for National Service on April 1. The national day of recognition presented an opportunity to spotlight the key role that national service plays in solving local problems and challenges. Participating in the day highlighted the effect of citizen service, showed support for nonprofit and national service groups, and may inspire more residents to serve in their communities, according to those who work with volunteers.
